inspiration
Though I thought about blogging about using the words “Ok” and “Okay” in my last entry, I didn’t want to fall down that slipperly slope.
So instead I ask for some inspiration. I have come to find out that I really enjoy writing computer programs. Maybe it’s some sort of primal tool making desire or maybe it’s the fact that it is actually fun to program in Python - or maybe it’s both. The problem is that between projects I fall into these ruts where I don’t have anything to write. It’s writer’s block not unlike what an author feels, I would imagine.
So what mundane or not so mundane things in your life could be simplified with a computer program? How could your use of a “yet to be made” program change the way you/others work/live/relax? I’m open to all ideas, big and small. Go ahead and post your ideas as comments to this entry.

Sometimes when I post on a message board, it would be really nice to have a little program that would tell me when that post has been responded to. So like when I turn my computer on it could pop up saying “your post on so and so website has been responded to. Click here to read the response.” Or something like that. I don’t know if that is possible or not in python.

Hhhmm…a good idea. Some message boards (PHPBB) already have a feature like this that you can turn on in your profile. I think it wouldn’t be too hard to come up with something like that in python though. I’ll see what I can do! Thanks sister.
