what a roller coaster

Whew, the subject sums up a lot!

Life in general is great - we sure love our little guy. It sure is tough sometimes though. I don’t think one can ever really be “prepared” for the first baby. I really thought I was (ha!) and I am still trying to adjust to having this guy around. Good thing one of my strengths is adaptibility.

Sarah is the one who has the most adjusting to do, what with being the kid’s source of food and all. She is doing quite well, but it is pretty frustrating for her sometimes. A few times I was ready to go out in the middle of the night and get her some bottles and formula because I could see how hard the feeding was on her. Good thing she is tougher than me!

In other news, Roberta is here in town to see her grandson and has been helping us out - that is until she came down with apendicitis! That’s right, dad was running back and forth between the emergency room and little Curtis’s 1 week checkup this morning. To make a long story short, she did well in surgery and is sleeping at the hospital tonight. She won’t be able to offer up to much more physical assistance but will still provide encouragement when we can pick her up tomorrow. I am glad that my mom is arriving tomorrow so that I don’t have to look after a wife, son and mother-in-law all by myself ;-)

Ok, picture to go - thanks for reading, it’s bed time…
I call him a little parrot cause he likes it on the shoulder so much!
