Breaking My Silence

Whew. It has been a while since I have blogged. Not because stuff isn’t happening, but because it is.

Let’s see …

  • We did get a brand new furnace to replace the lemon.
  • I interviewed for two higher-ed IT positions in Ohio.
  • I have accepted a contract job doing web programming in Python (yay!).
  • Spring, er, summer, no, spring, has arrived.
  • Our house is on the market.
  • I got a laptop to use for my programming job (and any side work).

There has been plenty of other stuff inbetween, but those are some of the highlights.

We are still looking for a new place in Ohio. I will be able to work from home, so we don’t have to target a specific area (which is making the process harder, I think). I’m not sure if we are going to rent, buy or shack up with relatives at first. Part of that depends on the sale of our house; how soon and how much.

In addition to the contract job, I think I am going to pursue teaching once we get back to Ohio. Whether that means getting more schooling, getting licensed, teaching at a private/public/vocational school or a community college, or any of a number of those things, I don’t know yet. What I do know is that I really enjoy teaching and interacting with students and teaching them about technology.

That’s that for now.

The main difference I see is that I’m going to keep working for Synthesys from Peoria (Sam go a job there!). And our furnace isn’t a lemon. ;-)

Best of luck and God Bless!

(So the question is: which one of us is real, and which is the doppelganger?)

Heh, that’s pretty wild. Glad you haven’t had an issue with your furnace. It’s no fun. But we’ve got a brand new one now, so I’m happy.

Regarding who is real; I blogged about it first ;-)

Good luck to you and your family too!
