Move to Ohio: Check

Well, we are here. Actually, we have been here since last Tuesday. We have been unpacking and getting settled for pretty much the past week. We had some great help unloading from even greater friends on Tuesday. I think the truck was unloaded in about an hour. Amazingly enough, most of our stuff made it through the move unscathed.

We closed on the house on Friday. We got a new furnace just in time, and we are getting central air this week. Not that we need it right now, because the weather has been great, but it will get muggy again.

I started my new job today. It went well for the most part. The morning was productive and I submitted code to address a couple tickets. The afternoon wasn’t as great, but I was delving into deeper depths of the system so I needed to do some learning along the way. The familial distractions were not bad. I have a nice pair of Sony studio headphones that I picked up in San Diego. I combined those with a variety of music from pandora.com and was able to tune out most of the “Curtis effect”. He did come up and raid my pretzel stash though, the little rascal.

This concludes the boring account of our move to Ohio. Stay tuned for more stuff about our life.

Man! You’re just always one step ahead of me! Sam & I moved into our new house in Peoria on Saturday. I start work this Thursday (at least thats when I get Internets at home) and am working from free WiFi hotspots around Peoria until then. :)

We’re finding a million little things wrong with the new house. Oven electrical outlet doesn’t work, small leak in the main water line, etc. etc. etc. But thats half the fun right?

    God Bless and Good luck!
