Heat once again flows …
… through the ductwork of our house. The furnace that came with our house was pretty much burned out - so much so that flames came out of parts that flames were supposed to be contained within. A scary thing.
Thankfully, our house came with one of those home warranties that covers the major fixtures of the house (like the furnace). Sarah fought a valiant fight with many a customer service drone and supervisor before they finally (begrudgingly) agreed to pay our claim.
Our house is now a nice and toasty 66F. It’s amazing how warm 66 feels after days spent in the mid 50’s.
The new furnace is about 1/4 the size of the previous iron giant. Being the curious type, I took off the front panel while it was running tonight and saw this cool glowing blue energy portal. That’s what I call it, anyhow. It looks like something off of Star Trek.
Me: “Warp 7, make it so!”
Furnace: “I’m a furnace, you weirdo.”
Me: “Shutup then.”
Furnace: “Bite me.”
Well, that didn’t go as well as I planned.
